What are ChristCare Small Groups?
ChristCare Groups are:
Gatherings of 3 to 12 persons
Who meet on a regular basis
With a trained and commissioned leader
In order to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ
What do ChristCare Groups do?
All ChristCare Groups are involved in four activities. They emphasize these activities differently, depending on their mission and their stage of development. Through these activities, group members grow as disciples of Jesus, learn to trust and care for one another, and learn to serve God and others. These four activities are:
Build Christian Community and Care – Warm relationships among group members help create a place to share joys, sorrows, and faith.
Pray and Worship – ChristCare Groups offer themselves to God, join themselves to God’s purposes, and receive God’s power. They respond to God’s love with thanks and praise. They ask God’s help for one another and for needs outside the group.
Biblical Equipping is a focused way for ChristCare Group members to encounter the Bible and grow as Jesus’disciples. Biblical Equipping helps group members hear and understand God’s word more clearly, know and love God and others more deeply, and serve God more joyfully.
Missional Service – ChristCare Groups typically do some kind of missional service. Groups may serve God by meeting various congregational or community needs. Groups may be evangelistic – inviting unchurched persons to group meetings or they may have a ministry of prayer.
